Car rental in Spain? These are the most common questions about car hire in Spain, Alicante, Barcelona and Malaga airports.

 

How do I pay for my rentacar?
You pay when you collect the car. You can pay with credit cards like VISA and Master card. We don`t accept payment by debit cards or in cash. Credit card should be in the name of the one of drivers on the contract.
 
When will I receive my booking confirmation? And when do I get feedback from customer service?
The bookings are confirmed immediately, on screen and by e-mail. If you send us a question by email, we usually answer within the same day or next working day.
 
Can I pick up and return in different locations? 
Yes, you can pick up and deliver the rental car at different locations in Spain, but at a fee. The cost depends on the distance, as the rental car often has to be transported back to pickup location.
 
Where at the airport can I pick up the rental car?
You pick up the car at the office of our partner on the current airport. In most Spanish airports, we use offices directly in arrivals hall in areas designated for rental cars. You’ll find details about your specific location in your booking confirmation
 
Why is the car located outside of the airport in some destination?
At some smaller airports you will not find the desk to the branch office inside the airport. The reason is limited space in the terminals, long queues and waiting. They have moved the office out of the airport, but it`s still in the airport area. In your booking confirmation you will find details of where you can pick up your car.
 
How many km or miles are included in the price? 
There are no restrictions on milage.
 
Can I drive the car outside of Spain? 
You can drive the rental car to France, Portugal and Andorra. However you will need an additional insurance as listed among the extras we offer with the cars.
 
When can I pick up the car?
Most of the airport offices are open from 07.00 to 23.00. At many airports like in Alicante, Malaga and more it`s possible to pick up the car outside of normal office hours at an additional cost. The cost of this is listed among extras during booking.
 
How old must I be to rent a car?
The minimum age of the driver is 21 years, and the maximum is 79 years. Note that drivers between 21 and 24 years are required to purchase an additional insurance.
 
What if my flight is delayed?
During reservation of a rentacar you will be requested for the number of your flight. If you have it available enter it along with your personal details. This way we are able to see if your flight is delayed and we hold the car for you.
 
Can I get a seat for my child?
Yes! You can add child seats during booking at the “extras” section. Choose the seat that best fits your child`s height/weight. Have you booked the wrong seat and want to change, this can be done as you collect up the rental car. All our child seats are CE approved.
 
What is covered by the insurance? 
The insurance includes personal-, theft-, and third party insurance. The insurance does not cover damages to tires, undercarriage, windows, locks and interior. Maximum excess depend on the model of the car. Additional insurance without excess is available and can be selected among the extras offered while making your reservation. Note that without additional insurance, you might be required a deposit from your credit card. This is refunded when the car is returned free of damage.
 
Are there any additional costs to the price? 
The only additional cost is fuel. Our prices include taxes, VAT (IVA), airport supplement and insurance.
 
Fuel policy
You collect the rental car with the tank full, and it should be returned with the tank empty, as there are no refunds. For rental periods of 3 days or less, the amount will be refunded, as long as the vehicle returns with full tank (min 95%).
 
How do I cancel or change my booking?
You can easily without any costs cancel or change your reservation by logging in to our website. You can also contact customer service by email or phone.
 
Returning the rental car
It`s important that the vehicle is returned on time. If the car is returned more than one hour to late you could be charged for an extra rental day. If you wish to extend the rental period, contact us by email or phone before the rental period expire. You could also get problems with the Spanish police for driving with an expired rental contract.
 
Additional driver
Additional drivers can be added to any rental contract. This can be done while collecting the car or by stopping by any branch office. All drivers must present a valid driver’s license to be added to the contract. Driving the car without having your name on the rental contract can cause problems with police and insurance in case of incident or traffic control. Price for additional drivers are listed among “extras” when you make a reservation.
